Robert Baker

Robert H. Baker, 81, passed away Wednesday December 29, 2021 at Van Wert Hospital.
Robert was born to Delmer and Bessie (Parrish) Baker on September 26, 1940 in Paulding County. He was a graduate of Van Wert Highschool and later joined the United States Army National Guard. He married the love of his life, and partner for over 59 years, Birdie McAlpin on June 16, 1962.

Robert retired as a customer service representative for Aero Quip. Along with spending time with his beloved family, Robert enjoyed painting and working on model railroads.

He is survived by his wife, Birdie Baker of Toledo, four children; Mark (Beverly) Baker of Greer, SC, Matthew Baker of Toledo, Howard (Shannon) Baker of Rockledge, FL, and Dawn (Spencer) Gamble of Salunga, PA, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Van Wert County Humane Society.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 3, 2022 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home at 12:00 pm. A visitation will be held prior from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Ridge Cemetery in Middle Point, Ohio immediately following the funeral.
