Randy Lee Allen, 65, of Athens, Alabama, passed away at 4:24 PM on January 17, 2020 at Crestwood Medical Center in Athens with his loving wife and children by his side.
He was born on September 27, 1954, in Van Wert, to Morrell G. Allen and Donnalee Jane (Parsons) Goodwin. On October 17, 2018, he married the love of his life, Elizabeth Neri.
A 1972 graduate of Van Wert High School, Randy went on to earn his degree in Business Administration from Northwestern University. He recently retired from Triangle Fastener Corporation.
Having spent his career in metal building construction, Randy was a member of the Metal Construction Association, the Metal Building Manufacturers Association and served on numerous metal construction building committees.
Randy loved to play golf and fish, but he especially enjoyed spending time with his family and loved ones.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Liz" Allen of Athens, AL; son, Jason M. (Brittany) Allen and their daughter, Arianna; daughter, Jennifer M. Allen; both of Rossford, OH; son, Christopher Allen of Gallatin, TN; mother, Donnalee (Gene) Goodwin; brother, Rick Allen; sister, Nancy (Kurt) Muntzinger; all of Van Wert; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Morrell G. "Chum" Allen and his grandmother, Susie Courtney.
Funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home 722 S. Washington St. Van Wert, OH 45891 with Rev. Will Haggis officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 on Friday, January 24, 2020, and again one hour prior to the service from 11 to 12 on Saturday at the funeral home.
