Patricia Linn

May 7, 1935 — February 23, 2021

Patricia Ann Linn, 85, of Celina, Ohio, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 23, 2021, at her residence at the Miller House. She was born in Celina, Ohio, on May 7, 1935, the daughter of the late Thornton and Lucille (Hines) Hone. She was a graduate of the Celina High School Class of 1953. After graduation, she worked as a secretary at Otis Hospital, and on November 10, 1955, she married the love of her life, Duane Linn, who survives in Celina. Together, they celebrated over 65 years of marriage, and still danced in celebration of their wonderful lives—most times, they would be left on the dance floor as being married the longest of any of the couples! Pat lived most of her life in the Celina-Rockford area, except for a brief time they spent in Monroe, Ohio. In addition to being a secretary at Otis Hospital, she was a Red Cross Volunteer, and probably best remembered as the lovely lady at Chief's giving food demonstrations and samples for many of the food companies that provided Chief with the foods to put on our tables. She loved talking to everyone that came in. And of course, one of Pat's proudest occupations, was that of homemaker to Duane and their children. She loved cooking and baking, and crocheting and needlepointing—she kept busy crocheting baby blankets for the grandchildren, and seven beautiful baby blankets for the great-grandchildren! She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ outside of Rockford, and was very active with numerous committees there; she was a member of the Women's Fellowship at the church, and loved every minute being with her friends there. Pat was a huge Red's fan and an avid IU Basketball fan, as well. She also spent a lot of time refunding with all of her friends—they accomplished a lot and had loads of fun!
Surviving in addition to her husband Duane are two sons: Mark (Sheila) Linn of Celina, Ohio, and Monte (Renee') Linn of Willshire, Ohio; four grandchildren: Michelle (Josh) Huiss of Columbus, Georgia; Angela (Garry) Heck of Mendon, Ohio; Adam Linn and fiancé' Shelby Barnett of Rockford, Ohio; Audrey (Lee) Schimmoller of Van Wert, Ohio; and seven great grandchildren: Roan Huiss, Warren Huiss, Andrew Heck, Alyzah Heck, Alyah Blackmore , Blake Schimmoller, and Everly Schimmoller. Also surviving is a step-sister, Diana (Bob) Mills of Portland, Maine. Deceased in addition to her parents is a son, Michael Linn.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, at 1:00 p.m., February 26, 2021, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, outside of Rockford on Oregon Road. Officiating will be Pastor Tom Brunstrup. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., at which time the service will begin. Memorials may be directed to State of the Heart Hospice, Coldwater, Ohio. Condolences may be expressed at ketchamripley.com. Arrangements for Pat have been entrusted to Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, Ohio.
