Bea Roebuck, 99, of Rockford, Ohio, went to be with her Heavenly Father at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2020, at the Laurels of Shane Hill. Bea was born "Myrtle Bernice" Sielschott on July 4, 2021, to Walter & Sadie (Myers) Sielschott, in Celina, Ohio. Bea attended St. John's Lutheran Church and graduated from Celina High School, then went to work with her sister Helen at Stubbs Havel Insurance Company until her marriage.
Bea married Max Roebuck of Rockford, Ohio, on August 14, 1948, who preceded in death on October 12, 2014. They lived on the Roebuck farm and had four children: Keith Roebuck deceased, Danny (Linda) Roebuck of Rockford, Janet (John) Hetz of Plymouth, Indiana, and Gary Roebuck of Rockford, Ohio. Surviving are seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Sara, Rachel, Valerie, Jessica, Grant, and Sierra; deceased is a granddaughter, Leann. Eleven great grandchildren survive: Braden, Jacob, Marissa, Ethan, Grace, Kendall, Samuel, Cierra, Hayden, Avery, and Holden. One sister survives: Dorothy Johnston; deceased are Bea's husband, Max, along with her sister, Helen (Sielschott) Fahncke and brother-in-law, Martin Fahncke; her brother, Edgar and wife Sis Sielschott, brother -in-law Robert Johnston and mother-in-law Otie Yoeman.
Bea worked with Max on the family farm, the two of them immediately becoming a team. They continued to enjoy roller skating and ice skating well after their children were born, and could skate with them. Between raising 4 children and farm life, Bea still found time for volunteering: Old Town Run Farm Bureau Council, Grace United Methodist Church, which she served in numerous capacities (donating escalloped potatoes a specialty, along with directing the children's Christmas program and the church choir), 4-H advisor, Parkway HS band mother, Combined Charity Drive, Election Board, gardening, and most of all taking care of her grandchildren while instilling many of her great virtues in them.
Graveside services for immediate family only, due to COVID-19, will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford. Memorials may be directed to State of the Heart Hospice, Coldwater, Ohio. Condolences may be expressed at ketchamripley.com. Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, has been entrusted with Bea's services.
