Billie Tullis

July 15, 1947 — April 27, 2020

Billie L. (Strete) Tullis, 72, of Rockford, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 27, 2020, at the Laurels of Shane Hill, where she was a patient. Billie was born in Celina, Ohio, on July 15, 1947, the daughter of the late Everette and Gloria (Holtzapple) Fannon. She was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School in St. Marys, Ohio. On March 24, 2007, she married the love of her life, Johnnie J. Tullis, who survives in Rockford. Billie retired from Parker-Hannifin in New Haven, Indiana, in 2009. This allowed her to spend more time with her family, and with her church family as well. Billie was a member of New Horizons Community Church in Rockford, where she was very active in all the events there. She helped with Sunday School and with Camp Cotubic; she helped with the morning breakfasts which the church served to the school kids; she helped with the funeral dinners, and anything else where she could share her time and expertise, and she always had a smile on her face. Billie was one of those "non-stop", energetic workers—always giving to others. She loved camping with Johnnie and all the family—they had wonderful memories from those trips. She absolutely loved all her grandkids and going to their sporting events, and anything else they were involved in. She also enjoyed collecting snowmen and Elvis memorabilia.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Johnnie, are her son, Travis (Tonya) Strete of Monroe, Indiana, and her daughter, Tabatha (Mike) Kraner, of Van Wert, Ohio; two step-sons, Joshua Tullis of Quincy, Ohio, and Danny (Nicole) Tullis of North Carolina; one step-daughter, Lori (Winston) Daniels of Celina, Ohio; 5 grandchildren: Skyla Werst, Trevor Strete, Taylor Strete, Nick Kraner, and Makayla Kraner; a sister, Dawn (Jack) King of Wapakoneta, Ohio; and a sister-in-law, Kathy (Mike) Shrider of Celina, Ohio. Deceased in addition to her parents are two daughters, Tami Strete and Traci J. Guernsey, and a son-in-law, Kenneth Guernsey.
Because of national health concerns, Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home and the Tullis Family are following directives outlined by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, limiting attendance to the funeral service to immediate family only. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2020, at 12:30 p.m., at New Horizons Community Church, Rockford, with Pastor Ken Meyer officiating. Weather permitting, there will be a drive-through visitation at the church from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon on Saturday. Burial at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, will take place at a later date. Please reach out to us via online condolences at www.ketchamripley.com and we will share your sympathies with the Tullis Family. Live streaming of the service may be viewed on New Horizons' Facebook page or on their website at www.nhccrockford.com
There will be a Celebration of Life for all friends and family at a later date. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105-3678.
