William "Bill" J. Andersen (91), of Van Wert passed away early Wednesday morning, October 23, 2019.
He was born on November 13, 1927 to the late Katherine (McGirr) and E. Frank Andersen in New Kensington, PA.
Bill is a graduate of the Howe Military Acadamy, and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. After his tour, Bill attended Bowling Green State University, and married Patricia Harvey, spending many loving years together. In 1994, he retired from Schwerman Trucking Company in Paulding, Ohio.
Bill enjoyed woodworking and gardening in his early years, and was a genuinely sweet and generous man.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Patricia, children; Billie Gayle (Tom) Lamb of Sharon, Wisconsin, Benjamin H. (Trudy) Andersen of Clermont, Florida, Michael T. Andersen of Van Wert, Ohio, and Thomas P. (Kelly) Andersen of Angola, Indiana. Bill is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Burial will take place at a later date. Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
