Sherry Marie Stapleton

Sherry Marie (Howell) Stapleton, age 74, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2026. Born on June 24, 1952, Sherry lived a life full of deep love for her family, a profound passion for animals and an infectious sense of humor that brought joy to everyone around her.

Sherry was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, William D. Stapleton, and her father, William Edward Howell.

She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories for her loving companion, Bill Stetler. She was a devoted mother to her children: Kimberly (Randy) Crocker, Kelly (Mark) Turner, and Shane Stapleton. She was a proud grandmother to Kayla (Carlton) Wilson, Trey Crocker, and Jayden Crocker, and a doting great-grandmother to Kali Marie Carr and C'Yonni Jream Wilson.

Sherry is also survived by her mother, Colleen Slaughter, and her siblings: Teresa Howell-Hackman, Nancy Howell, Maureen Busse, Lori (Stacey) Myers, Cindy Foltz, and Mark Howell. She will be fondly remembered by her large and loving extended family of in laws: Valerie DeGeorgis, Karen Toland, Cheryl Grogg, Rita Morris, Marilyn Ainsworth, Janice Parr, Shirley Blalock, and John (Pam) Stapleton.

Sherry found immense joy in the simple, beautiful things in life. She truly loved tending to her small farm - surrounded by her chickens, dogs, cats and horses. An adventurous spirit at heart, she loved camping, hiking, going to see live bands, and going trail-riding on her beloved horse, "Kelly-horse." Above all else, she cherished her friends and treasured precious "Family Time" with her children and grandchildren. Her vibrant spirit, boundless love for animals and family, and quick sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, November 6, 2026 at The Eagles Nest, 110 W. Jackson St. Wren, OH 45899.
