Sheila V. Fox

Sheila V. Fox, 88, of Van Wert, died Monday, June 8, 2026, at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born April 16, 1938, in Van Wert. She was married to Lynn Merle Fox for 50 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Deanna Riggenbach; sons, Jim (Tami) Fox and Lynn M. Fox, Jr; a brother, David (Judy) Malinowski; grandchildren, Nicholas Riggenbach, Callie Riggenbach, Dylan (Alicia) Hayes, Megan Meihls, Tracy Fox and Justin Summers; and great grandchildren, Riviera Carlin, Isabella "Izzy" Hayes, Hudson Hayes and Rediker Hayes.

Sheila was preceded in death by her mother Belva "Jerry" (Book) Hitchcock; her father, Leo Malinowski; and sons, David Lynn Fox and Tracy Allen Fox.

She was a member of the Van Wert Moose, American Legion and a life member of the Van Wert V.F. W. Auxiliary. Sheila was loved by all her customers throughout the years of bartending in Van Wert.

Mamma Fox was the backbone and inspiration behind the Foxtail Grass. The Number One fan of her husband, children and grandchildren's music. What a legacy! She was very proud of her musical family. Sheila enjoyed camping at Bluegrass Festivals and playing cards with her Bluegrass family. She loved them all.

Mom, Grandma Fox, Aunt Sheila and Momma Fox was loved by all her family and friends. The matriarch of the Fox family- the end of an era. She will be missed on earth, but forever in our hearts and memories.

A celebration of life will be held after 2:00pm on September 12, 2026, at the Van Wert Moose.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
