Sharon Y. Gangwer, 68, of Rockford, Ohio, died early Friday morning, November 12, 2010, at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born in Rockford, Ohio, on December 28, 1941, to Robert L. and Victoria A. (Springer) Gephart. On February 14, 1965, she married Carl Gangwer, and he survives in Rockford. She attended Praise Point Church in Willshire, Ohio, and lived all her life in Rockford. She was employed by General Electric in Decatur, Indiana for 26 years, and then worked at the Van Wert, Ohio, Wal-Mart for almost 20 years. Surviving in addition to her husband, Carl, is one son, Michael D.Gangwer of Rockford; three brothers: Robert L. (Carol) Gephart, of Portland, Tennessee; Dick (Mae) Gephart of Union City, Tennessee; and Randy Gephart, of Rockford; four sisters: Norma Jean (Roger) Hawkins, Decatur, Indiana; Karen Ward, Columbus, Ohio; Fran (Rolland) Miller, of Rockford; and a deceased infant sister, Mary Carolyn Gephart. One sister-in-law, Shirley (John) Bennett, of Roundup, Montana, also survives. Five grandchildren survive: Krystal, Kayla, Kristopher, Karie, and Georgia, along with one great grandchild, Izabella. Services will be held on Monday, November 15, 2010, at 10:30 am at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford with Pastor Mark Rutledge officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford. Friends may call at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home on Sunday , November 14, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Memorials may be directed to the Parkway Booster Club.
