Russell Melvin McIntosh, 79, of Van Wert, passed away at 4:58 PM on Monday, April 13, 2020 at St. Rita's Medical Center.
Born on February 7, 1941, in Scott, Ohio, the son of the late Glenn Melvin McIntosh and Alveria (Humbarger) McIntosh. On December 12, 1961, he married the former Jeannette K. Rice, who passed away on January 18, 2009. Together, they shared years of memories.
Russell retired from the United States Navy with 20 years of service to his country which included serving in Vietnam. He then retired as a truck driver from B & H Industries in Montpelier, Ohio.
Russell was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 4019 in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, and a life member of the D.A.V.
Russell was very thankful of fellow truck drivers and military veterans for their service and dedication. He will be remembered as an excellent dad and his favorite saying, "Vote Republican".
Surviving are his children, Victoria "Vicki" Sexton of Van Wert, Jeffery McIntosh of Montpelier, Ohio, and John McIntosh of Ohio City; grandchildren, Krystal Miller, Tyler McIntosh, Rachel McIntosh, Kinzie Steube, Alexandria McIntosh, Brooke McIntosh, Jeffrey Miller, Richelle Miller, and Tonya Miller; he is also survived by 2 great granddaughters and 3 great grandsons; and grateful thanks to Russell's estranged wife for her contributions to his care over the last 9 years.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Curtis L. McIntosh.
