Roy Clarence Hurley

Roy Clarence Hurley, 79, of Van Wert passed away on August 17, 2023 at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born on October 23, 1943 in Delphos, son of the late Clarence Wesley Hurley and Mary Ellen (Seekings) Hurley.

On September 07, 1968, he married Mary Anne Vander Valden, who survives. Together, they shared years of memories.

Roy was a 1962 graduate of Van Wert High School. Following high school, he served in the U. S. Navy. Upon discharge from the Navy, Roy worked as a tool and die maker at Federal Mogul in Van Wert until retirement.

Roy was a member of the former Navy Club in Van Wert, and a past member of the Van Wert American Legion. He attended St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert.

Roy enjoyed woodworking. He also enjoyed cooking, including shopping for the ingredients for the meals he would make.

In addition to his wife, surviving is their daughter, Kathleen Hurley, and Roy's sister, Mary O'Daffer, both of Van Wert. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Jacqueline Mozingo, Patricia Bigham, and Josephine Sheets.
