Roderick Lee Hoffman

Roderick "Rod" Lee Hoffman, age 77, of Daleville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, February 24, 2026. He was born to Delbert Milton and Audrey (Dull) Hoffman, on November 8, 1948, in Van Wert County, and dedicated his career to the field of engineering, retiring after 35 years at Delco Remy. On May 4, 1973, he married the former Irma Alvarez. Rod earned his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Tri-State University (currently Trine) in Angola, Indiana.

Rod is remembered as a hardworking individual who cherished his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Irma Hoffman; his sons, Jesse Jacob Hoffman of Mooresville, Indiana and Justin Joseph Hoffman of Daleville; his grandson, Nolan Hendrix Hoffman; his brother, James (Terri) Hoffman of Decatur; and his sisters, Brenda (Keith) Ward and Cindy (Jack) Hankins, both of Wren, Ohio. Rod's passions included golfing, fishing, and researching his ancestry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; and his daughter in law, Sabrina Jo Hoffman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home and Crematory, with Rev. David Ray, officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
