VAN WERT, Ohio - Robert L. Zinsmaster, 85, Van Wert, died at 2:49 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Ind.
He was born July 11, 1926, in Van Wert, to the late Elizabeth (Agler) Zinsmaster and Homer H. Zinsmaster.
Survivors include his children: Randy (Denise) Zinsmaster of Cookeville, TN, and Robin (Chiew Eng) Zinsmaster of Santa Rosa, CA; sisters: Nancy Crawford of Van Wert, Judy (Les) Kuhlman of Rochester, Pa., Shirley (Charles) Stephenson of New Concord, Ohio, and Betty Sue (Roger) Reasoner of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and grandchildren: Philip, Skylar, Bryan, Rachel, Logan and Lucas.
He was preceded in death by sisters: Carroll Tomlinson and Lois Koester.
He retired from Conrail after 39 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Van Wert, a US Army veteran of WW II and a member of the Van Wert American Legion and VFW posts.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Preferred memorial is St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.
