Richard G. Bagley, 81, of Van Wert, died at 12:20 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born July 19, 1932, in Van Wert, the son of the late Gern A. and Ada P. (Hurless) Bagley. In May 1957, he married Alena Kaye (Roller) Bagley, who preceded him in death on February 21, 2009.
Mr. Bagley was owner of, and a broker and auctioneer for, Bagley Realty & Auction Company in Van Wert from 1957-2007. He was a life member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Van Wert, where he served in several church offices.
Mr. Bagley was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the medical corps from October 1952 until October 1954. He also served on the Board of Directors of First Federal Savings & Loan in Van Wert from 1969-2007.
Survivors include two sons, Michael R. (Deb) Bagley and K. Joseph (Terri) Bagley, both of Van Wert; two sisters, LaDonna Feasby of Van Wert and Kay (Michael) Dugan of Chelsea, Mich.; three grandchildren, Tyler, Kylee and Cameron Bagley; two stepgrandchildren, Destinee (Andy) Knittle and Colby Black; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Emiree and Creeden Knittle; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 26, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
