Phyllis Linn

Phyllis E. Linn, 85, of Rockford, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 12:35 pm at Colonial Nursing Center where she was a patient. She was born March 29, 1925 in Celina, Ohio to W.A. and Miriam (Fetters) Shirk. On March 20, 1949, she married Carl Linn, Jr., and he survives in Rockford. She was a secretary and bookkeeper for Gibbons Hospital in Celina, and at Chatt Valley Foods in Chattanooga, Ohio. She was also the church secretary and newsletter editor at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Rockford, where she was a member. She was also a member of the St. Paul's UCC Women's Association. Surviving in addition to her husband Carl are two children: Gail (Steve) Godfrey of Portland, Indiana and Dan (Jennifer) Linn of Willshire, Ohio; 2 grandchildren: Jessica Linn of Cincinnati, Ohio and Ryan Linn of Van Wert, Ohio; one brother, Robert Shirk of Celina, Ohio also survives. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2010, at 10:00 am at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Oregon Rd., Rockford, with Rev. Catherine Costello officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford on Wednesday from 4-7 pm and on Thursday at the church, 1 hour prior to the service.
