Philip Eugene Reyman

Philip Eugene Reyman "Gene", 93, of Van Wert passed away at 4:00 AM on January 29, 2022 at Gardens of St. Henry. He was born on December 19, 1928, in Mt. Carmel, IL, to the late Philip Edgar and Aena (Seaton) Reyman. On March 8, 1952, he married the love of his life, Georgia Mae Litherland, Together, they shared nearly 70 years of marriage.

Gene was a 1946 graduate of Mt. Carmel High School in Mt. Carmel, IL. He worked for the NY Central Railroad, which moved Him and Georgia from Illinois to eventually Van Wert. Gene went on to work at International Harvester in Ft. Wayne until retirement in 1981. After retirement, he worked at Marsh Supermarket for several years and finally worked at The Fremont Company in Rockford for a couple of years.

Gene enjoyed gardening and sitting outside and watching his beloved Chicago Cubs, and Chicago Bears on TV. He loved to watch sports of any kind., and was also at all of his grandkids events until his health kept him from going. In his later years, he loved to go on car rides with his son-in-law.

He and Georgia attended the First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert for 45 years.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia of St. Henry; sons: Philip Edward (Brooke) Reyman of Celina; William F. Reyman of Omaha, IL; daughter, Nancy M. (Richard) Eberle Jr. of Van Wert; grandchildren:
Elizabeth (Travis) Rinderle, Richard Eberle III, Christian Eberle, Hannah Eberle; great grandchild, Keene Rinderle.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his brother, William Reyman and sister, Mary Catherine Reyman.

Service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gene`s memory may be sent to Everhart Hospice of Greenville or Van Wert Band Parents Organization.
