Nora Scott

Nora Marie (Hirsch) Scott passed away at 3:15 a.m. July 7, 2016, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born Aug. 6, 1926, to Louis J. and Goldie Mae (King) Hirsch in Van Wert County, Ohio. She was raised by her loving aunt, Mary J. Hirsch, who preceded her in death. On Jan. 16, 1948, she married Paul V. Scott who also preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 2006.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis L. (Rebecca) in Lima, Ohio, Douglas P. in Van Wert, and Thomas B. (Eileen) in Dayton, Ohio, her grandchildren, Jason (Yvette) Scott, Jeanne Scott, William Alexander and Michelle Alexander, and her five great-grandchildren, Alena Scott, Alivia Scott, Trace Scott, Alysse Scott, and Kolten Scott. Her brother, Dick (Donna) Hirsch, survives of Fremont, Ohio. She is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews.

Nora was a 1944 graduate of Middle Point High School. She worked for Aeroquip Corporation in Van Wert, after raising her three sons. She was a lifetime member of Middle Point United Methodist Church, Middle Point, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2016, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, officiated by Pastor Tim Owens. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point. Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2016, at the funeral home.
