Mary Ann McIntosh

Mary Ann McIntosh, 59, of Van Wert, Ohio passed away on Friday, April 29th at DuPont Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana surrounded by her loving family. Mary Ann was born May 13, 1962, in Van Wert, Ohio and married the love of her life, Jeff McIntosh, on October 26, 1985. She was a graduate of Van Wert High School and a longtime employee of both the Van Wert County Hospital and Van Wert City Schools.

Mary Ann had a passion for building meaningful and lasting relationships with everyone she encountered. She was adventurous, thoughtful, and provided unwavering support and love to the family and friends she cherished. Whether through a greeting card, exceptional home cooked meal or dessert, caring for others came as second nature and she will be deeply missed.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Joan Smith and sister Denise Smith. She is survived by her husband Jeff McIntosh of Van Wert, sons Zach (Megan) McIntosh of Elmhurst, IL, and Austin (Erika) McIntosh of Van Wert, grandsons Owen and Hudson McIntosh and siblings: David (Sharyn) Smith of Van Wert, Donna (Barry) Coil of Middle Point, Deb Smith of Rockford, Daniel Smith of Celina, and Donald (Kari) Smith of Van Wert. Mary Ann is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, May 5, 2022, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Charles Obinwa celebrating. Visitation will be at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Rosary service following. Burial will follow at Van Wert Woodland Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society in honor of Amy Geary's ongoing fight.
