Martha June Clark

June 15, 1931 — November 3, 2023

Emblem

Martha June Clark, beloved Sister, Aunt, faithful servant to God, and friend to many, went home to Jesus peacefully on November 3, 2023 in Van Wert, Ohio at the age of 92.

Martha was born to Vernon and Mary Clark on June 15, 1931, the slightly older sister to her twin, Mary. Her time growing up was split between the family farm in Van Wert County and at the family's winter home in Miami, FL.

Growing up, Martha and Mary were inseparable. They shared toys and clothes, but also their deepest fears and highest aspirations. They were sometimes pests to their older brother, Clayton, and loved to spy when their beautiful older sister, Clara May, was hosting a suitor. Martha was the quiet, more reserved sister and she loved to listen to Mary play the piano.

After graduating from Miami Edison High School, Martha pursued her dream of becoming a nurse and she received her nurse's training and RN from Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. Martha was an angel on earth to many patients, showing extraordinary patience, love and compassion while always striving to set the example of a devoted Christian.

After many years working at Van Wert County Hospital, Martha took on a bigger role as a surgical nurse, assisting Dr. Hamdi through countless surgeries (and prayers!) until she retired from nursing. She then focused her attention on the family farm, curating a space that future generations will continue to love and enjoy.

Martha's canine companions over the years were treasured by her. Sarah, the sweet and curious poodle, has stayed behind, but her beloved German Shepherd's: Heidi, Smoky, Gretchen, Cory, and Annie are on a long walk with her now.

Martha's spiritual journey was always at the core of her daily life. A principled woman of integrity, always in search of the truth, she strove to set an example of a life based on the teachings of Christ. She made an impact on many lives and will be forever missed. Until we meet again.

Martha is survived by twin sister Mary Price (nee Clark), nephews and nieces, David Clark, David Kuhn, Sandy (Kenton) Kuhn-Chun, Carol (James) Phillips, Mark (Cheri) Price, numerous great nephews, and great great nephews and nieces, cousins and relatives.

She is preceded in death by parents Vernon and Mary Clark, sister Clara May (Jim) Kuhn, brother Clayton (Ruby) Clark, and nephew Paul Clark.

Viewing will be held at Trinity Friends Church on Saturday, November 11th from 11am to 1pm. Funeral at Trinity Friends Church at 1pm with graveside service to follow at Wright Cemetery.
