Mabel I. Shumaker, 102, of Van Wert, passed away at 6:54 AM on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at her residence.
She was born on May 22, 1919, in Liberty Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Ray and Emma (Riedel) Johnson. On December 28, 1945, she married Frank E. "Gene" Shumaker, who passed away on November 24, 1985.
Mabel was a life member and longtime organist at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Van Wert.
Surviving are her children, Phyllis Britton of Florida and John Shumaker of Van Wert; and 2 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Van Wert with Pastor Kurt Klingbeil, officiating. Interment will follow in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
