Lissa Kettering

March 20, 1985 — August 13, 2022

Long Beach

Lissa Ann Kettering of Long Beach, California passed away suddenly on August 13, 2022 at the age
of 37. Lissa was the daughter of Keith and Kris Lay Kettering. Born in Louisville, Kentucky where
she lived for the first twelve years of her life, she also lived in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan for over 20
years. She moved to Santa Monica, California during the pandemic to be close to her brother and
his little family.

There were two things that Lissa treasured more than words can express. Faith and family. In
addition to her adoring parents she is survived by her brother Michael, her sister-in-law Alicia and
her nephew Raylan. Lissa lovingly served as Raylan's full-time nanny for the last two years. She
was also the aunt of sweet Amber Lissa Kettering who passed away as an infant. In addition, Lissa
was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Paul and Freda Lay and Ray and Echo
Kettering.

Lissa loved ferociously. She ended every conversation and phone call with "I love you." And that
was to family and friends alike. She was known for sending cards and often way ahead of time.
Written thank you cards were immediately sent out, and Christmas cards were stamped and ready to
be mailed before Thanksgiving. And oh how she loved Christmas!

While in Michigan Lissa's weekly highlight was attending the contemporary church service. She was
very active in the church and helped with many mission projects and fundraisers.
Lissa loved going to the movies once a week, playing video games, cuddling with Raylan, going to
Los Angeles Rams games, attending family weddings and dancing all night, and appreciating
weekly family dinners. She liked the simple things in life.

She will be missed by so many including her many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Her pure,
loving heart and thoughtfulness will always be remembered.

A memorial service in Lissa's honor will be held 10:00 am Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Rockford United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
