Lanny B. Lemmon, 83, entered his heavenly home on Thursday, Sept 10, 2026. 

Lanny was born on November 15, 1942,in Middlepoint, Ohio, to Tulvina (Knittle) Shumaker and John B. Lemmon.

Lanny attended Lincolnview High School and graduated in 1962. He married Donna Jean Ellis in 1964.

Lanny and Donna Jean had 3 daughters Tiffany Lemmon (deceased), Kim Miller and Tenile and Earl Davis. Lanny has 6 Grandchildren, Zachary Miller, Zoe and Shaye Williams, Aaliyah(deceased), Israel Pernell, Zion Davis (girlfriend: Aree) and Ziayrah "Sissy" Davis, he has one great granddaughter, Cora Mae Williams

Lanny's dad was killed serving our country and his mother married Dale Shumaker, that was his Dad and he raised Lanny along with Lanny's two brothers, Danny Ray Shumaker and Barry Shumaker.

Lanny worked at numerous jobs in his life, he was a firefighter with the Van Wert Fire Department, Borden's, Continental Can, and he retired from the State of Ohio as a Load Limit Inspector.

Lanny was a member of Pentecostal Way Church, Van Wert, under Pastor Bill Watson, and he loved the Watson family.

Lanny had made many friends through out his life and was loved by many people. He would do anything for anybody, he was witty and funny with a laugh that was his. He was proud of his kids and extremely proud of his grandkids and he was a significant part of their lives.

He enjoyed boxing in his early years and also love snowmobiling. Lanny always had on a ball hat and flannel shirt!

He loved working on cars, painting cars, and watching the Barrett- Jackson auto auction and Perry Mason.

Lanny had a special friend that he's had over the years, Linda Edwards, along with Angie, Chris and Ian Frost.

He had a special neighbor that has been there like Johnny on the spot, Vernon and Rene Hundley and family.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; daughter, Tiffany; and granddaughter, Aaliyah.

Lanny is missed and the loss is immeasurable. They don't make them like that anymore, we lost a very special guy.

Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Pentecostal Way Church, 1213 Lesson Avenue, Van Wert. Burial will immediately follow in Ridge Cemetery, Middle Point, Ohio.
