Kenneth Luginbill

Kenneth Leroy Luginbill, 83, of Willshire died Thursday April 1, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert. He was born February 26, 1927 in Adams County, Indiana to Roy and Goldie (Bollenbacher) Luginbill. On February 22, 1958 he married Clara Louise Schott, who preceded him in death on October 8, 2002. Surviving are two sons: Jeff (Sara) Luginbill of Willshire, and Scott (Jill) Luginbill of Rockford; one daughter: Ruth (Charles) Whitten of Willshire; two brothers: Vern Luginbill of Decatur, Indiana, and Dean (Helen) Luginbill of Rockford; three sisters: Leona Amburgy of Willshire, Norma Jean (Charles) Fuson of Celina, and Mary Luginbill of Chattanooga, Ohio; and six grandchildren: Allen, Ashley, Matthew and Brayton Luginbill, John and Julie Whitten. Deceased is a son Kenneth Luginbill Jr. He was a life long farmer, Black Creek Township Trustee for 28 years, and worked at International Harvester in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was a member of St. Paul's Church of Christ, Rockford, where he served on the Church Board numerous years. He played baseball and basketball at Willshire High School and was on State Basketball Teams and Honorable Mention for All State Basketball. He was recognized by the Soil and Water Conservation as Farmer of the Year in 1999. Funeral Services are Tuesday April 6, 2010 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Rockford at 10 a.m. with Pastor Catherine Castello officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul's UCC. Calling is 2-8 p.m. Monday, April 5 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Memorials can be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ. [photosmash id=9]
