Kenneth E. Stahl, 91, of Van Wert, passed away at 3:42 PM on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at Hearth & Home of Van Wert surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 21, 1931, in Grover Hill, to the late Isaac N. and Nina F. (Clear) Stahl. On January 20, 1951, he married the love of his life, Julia Joan Pate. Together, they shared a lifetime of memories.
Kenny served his county in the United States Army and was a longtime fireman and paramedic with Van Wert Fire Department retiring with the rank of Captain. He was honored to have been a member of the first crew of paramedics on the fire department.
Kenny was a substitute teacher at Vantage Career Center for over 30 years. He enjoyed woodworking and made the wooden letters and frames for the veterans wall at the Van Wert County Courthouse.
As a family man, Kenny adored his family and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. He was especially fond of his daughter's Australian shepherd, Buster.
Surviving are his sons: Patrick E. Stahl of Van Wert; Brian L. (Sandra) Stahl of Payne; daughters: Deborah J. (Ron) Klewer of Van Wert; Kathy J. (Mitchell) Rutter of Mendon; 17 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Joan; son Kenneth N. Stahl; siblings: Gloria Kline, Connie Roop, Billy Stahl; 1 grandchild and 2 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 PM on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home 722 S. Washington St. Van Wert, OH 45891.
Kenny will be interred next to his wife during a private ceremony at Scott Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Kenny's memory may be sent to the Van Wert Fire Department or to Vantage Career Center.
