VAN WERT, Ohio - Jessica L. Channell, 22, of Van Wert, died at 11:56 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Ind.
She was born Oct. 28, 1988, in Mt. Clemens, Mich., to Bridgette (Cole) Channell, who survives of Van Wert, and the late Ronald Channell, Jr. Her stepfather, Christopher Wood, also survives of Van Wert.
Other survivors include her maternal grandfather: Gordon Cole of Wildwood, Fla.; her paternal grandparents: Deacon Ronald and Nancy Channell, Sr. of Roseville, Mich.; her stepgrandmother: Connie Wood of Van Wert; aunt and uncle: Wendy and Frank Scaramuzzino of Lexington, Mich.; many aunts, uncles, cousins and a nephew; her brothers: Ronald Channell, III of Detroit, Mich., and Nick Channell of Van Wert, and two sisters: Tamara (Steve) Gottschling of Roseville, Mich., and Melissa (Fiance-Nick Ragan) Channell of Ft. Wayne, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother: Lorraine Cole.
She attended St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Van Wert, and volunteered at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home in Van Wert. She was a 2009 graduate of Van Wert High School.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township, Michigan. Calling is one hour prior to the service on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at the funeral home.
