James "Jim" C. Miller, 78, of Van Wert, died at 4:28 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26 at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Ind.
He was born May 2, 1934, in Van Wert, to the late Anne (Hausknecht) Miller and Clifford Miller.
Survivors include his children: Nikki (Brian) Greve of Van Wert and Jennifer (Jason Haag) Dunlap of Cleveland, Ohio; a sister: Virginia (Rik) Laiho of Findlay, Ohio; grandchildren: Nick and Lindsay Greve; nephews: Erik and Peter Laiho, and his grand-dogs: Reese and Marley.
He retired in 1999 from Aeroquip Corporation, Van Wert. He was a veteran of the United States Army, an avid bicyclist, also enjoyed history and sports cars.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Hal Shafer will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is Van Wert County Relay for Life.
