Gerald Joseph "Jerry" Rogers, 84, of Van Wert passed away Sunday April 27, 2025 at his home. He was born May 28, 1940 and was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Meihls) Rogers.

On November 14, 1964 Jerry married the former Martha Leininger, who survives.

Jerry was very proud of his service in the U. S. Navy, where he served on the U. S. S. Lawrence. He was a lifetime member of the Van Wert VFW Post #5803. He was also a member of the Monroeville, Indiana American Legion Post #420.

In addition to his wife, surviving are a son, Jeff Rogers of Van Wert; a daughter, Tammy (Charles) Bragg of Howell, Michigan; four brothers, Jim (Colleen) Rogers, Steve Rogers, Danny Rogers, and Doug Rogers; five sisters, Gloria (Bill) Sternberger, Jovetta (Loren) Means, Susan Lude, Barbara (Michael) Hungerford; and Becky (Bob) Campbell; four grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry and Robert Rogers.

A memorial service in Jerry's honor will be held 10:30 am Friday May 2, 2025 at Alspach Gearhart Funeral Home, 722 South Washington Street, Van Wert, Ohio 45891. Charles Sanderson, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Van Wert.
