VAN WERT, Ohio a�" Fern E. Wermer, of Van Wert, died at 6:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at Hearth & Home of Van Wert.
She was born Jan. 20, 1925, in Willshire, Ohio, to the late Avis (Baker) Ray and Cleo F. "C.F." Ray.
Her husband, William "Bill" Wermer, survives of Van Wert. They married Dec. 14, 1947.
Other survivors include children: Elizabeth (Richard) Heiby of Celina, Ohio, and Alan (Nancy) Wermer of Saline, Michigan, grandchildren: Ellyse Sites, Alex Heiby, and Andrew Heiby, and great-grandchildren: Owen Heiby, Elliott Heiby, and Carson Sites.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Esther Lampy.
She was a homemaker and had retired from Celina City Schools after 14 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Van Wert.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is First United Methodist Church.
