Elizabeth Maxine Shell

Elizabeth Maxine Shell, 101, of Van Wert passed away at 4:15 AM on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Vancrest Healthcare Center. She was born, at home, on May 26, 1921, in Hoaglin Township, to James "Thurlow" and Nellie (Rumble) Adams. On July 8, 1950, she married Estell Shell, who preceded her in death on April 4, 1996. Together, they shared many years of memories.

She was a graduate of the former Union High School in Van Wert County.

Maxine retired from Borden Cheese Company in 1981 after 36 years of service.

She was a member of the former Borden Cheese Retirees Club.

Maxine enjoyed all of her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing bingo and watching church services on television during her time at Vancrest Healthcare Center. Maxine's family is very appreciative of the wonderful care she received while at Vancrest.

Surviving are her son, James (Phyllis) Booher Adams of Van Wert; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Maxine was preceded in death by a son and daughter in law, William (Sharon) Booher; a daughter, Jacqueline Klinger; a grandson, James Mark Adams; a granddaughter, Lori Booher; 1 great grandson and 1 great granddaughter; a sister, Faye Adams; a brother, Dale Adams; a step brother, Tom Alexander; and a nephew, Richard Adams.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert, OH.

Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Elizabeth`s memory may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
