Donald W. Morris, 93, of Van Wert passed away at 5:15 AM on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Vancrest of Van Wert.
Born on September 12, 1926 in Washington Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late Earl L. and Velma M. (Collins) Morris. On April 6, 1947, he married the former Barbara V. Poe, who survives.
Donald was a lifetime farmer in Van Wert County.
Donald was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Van Wert, the United States Trotting Association, the Mercer County Harness Horsemen's Association, the Van Wert Harness Horsemen's Association, and the Van Wert County Farm Bureau.
Donald enjoyed racing harness horses for 25 years in Ohio and Indiana.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara V. (Poe) Morris of Van Wert; two sons, Steven D. (Linda) Morris of Sylvania, Ohio and Alan L. (Joyce) Morris of Van Wert; a brother, Lloyd E. Morris of Cullman, Alabama; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Stoffel, Amy (Garrett) Sudimack, Laura (Joe) Cramer, Emily (Chris) Hass, and Jessica (Kevin) Peters; and great grandchildren, Gavin, Landon and Anna Sudimack, Olivia, Abigail and Jacob Cramer, Lucas Stoffel, Reagan and Avery Hass, and Colton and William Peters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold W. Morris.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Donald`s memory may be directed to the Trinity United Methodist Church or to the Mercer County Harness Horsemen's Association.
