VAN WERT, Ohio - Dana L. Coppes, 53, of Van Wert, died at 4:12 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Ind.
He was born Aug. 17, 1958, in Paulding, Ohio, to Joan (Parker) Coppes, who survives in Oakwood, Ohio, and the late Richard Coppes.
Other survivors include his children: Christopher (Lucretia) Coppes of Defiance, Ohio, and Jeremy Chad Coppes of Paulding; a brother: Dale (Deena) Coppes of Grover Hill, Ohio; one sister: Karen (Steve) Leatherman of Oakwood, and three grandchildren.
He worked at Grief Bros. in Van Wert. He was the former owner of JD's Whine & Dine, Middle Point, Ohio. He loved to fish and play darts.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. William Nirote will officiate.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, and 11-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is donor's choice.
