Connie L. Taylor

Connie L. Taylor, 88, of Van Wert, died at 4:00 am on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Vancrest of Van Wert. She was born August 8, 1938, in Van Wert County, to Harry and Esther (Wortman) Michael. She married Ronald W. Taylor. They recently celebrated 70 years of marriage.

Connie's life centered on hard work and devotion. She had worked in factory and retail positions, but Connie's true passion was raising her five children.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald W. Taylor of Van Wert; her children, Sheree (Erwin) Showalter of Nancy, KY, Terri (Rick) Legg of Van Wert, Rockey (Deb) Taylor of Van Wert, Timothy (Julie) Taylor of Grover Hill, and Tony (Lisa) Taylor of Oliver Springs, TN; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; her sisters, Janet (Larry) Smith and Gloria Lippi; and a brother in law, Gary Etzler.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Michael; sisters, Sandra Caldwell and Linda Etzler; and brothers in law, Richard Caldwell and Bill Lippi.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, with Rev. Ron Johnson, officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Taylor Cemetery, Van Wert.

Visitation will be from 11:00am-1:00pm on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
