Clois Dudgeon

Clois Edward Dudgeon, 86, of Rockford, Ohio, died at his home at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2010. He was born March 7, 1924 in Rockford, Ohio to Albert and Lela (High) Dudgeon. On September 10, 1950, he married Sarah Ann "Sally" Shockley, and she survives. He served in the U.S. Army in W.W. II and was the owner and operator of the Little Elevator Company, Inc., in Rockford, Ohio, until his retirement. He was a Purdue University graduate, with a degree in Agriculture. He was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church, a 32 degree Mason, Valley of Dayton, a member of the Shanes Lodge No. 377 F& AM, a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, and a Sunday school teacher at the Methodist church for many years. He also raised a champion line of Brittany Spaniels for many years, and had a life-long love for hunting and fishing. Surviving in addition to his wife, Sarah Ann (Sally), are three children: 1 son, Edward Albert (Nicky) Dudgeon of Okemos, Michigan, and 2 daughters, Camille Ann Green of Troy, Ohio, and Dawn L. (Jeff) DuComb of Bingham Farms, Michigan. One brother, Dr. Charles A. (Elizabeth) Dudgeon, survives in Yorktown, Indiana, along with 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. at the Rockford United Methodist Church with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford, with military rites at the graveside. Friends may call at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford on Friday, July 2, 2010 from 3-8 p.m., and on Saturday at the church, 1 hour prior to the service. [photosmash id=21]
