Christopher L. Youtsey

Christopher Lee Youtsey, 49, of Van Wert Ohio, passed away September 26, 2023 at Lima Memorial Hospital from natural causes. Chris was born September 11th 1974 in Lima Ohio to Larry and Nancy (Eversole) Youtsey. Larry preceded him in death July 26th, 2023. Nancy survives in Van Wert. Chris is survived by his 2 sons, Derek (Samanatha) Youtsey of Fort Wayne, IN and Jaden Youtsey, of Delphos, OH. Other family survivors include his sister, Michelle Yohannes, of Van Wert, OH and his niece Eleni Yohannes, of Indianapolis IN, along with several Aunts and Uncles. Chris graduated from Van Wert High School and was a successful baseball player. He was Van Wert's American Legion's MVP in 1993 along with many other awards throughout his baseball career. After High School he worked many years in the construction field beginning with Lewis Construction and most of his years spent working for Alexander & Bebout. Chris had a passion for hunting, fishing and coaching baseball. When his boys were young, he assisted in organizing traveling baseball teams at the Middle Point Ballpark advocating for stronger programs within the community. In his past time, he enjoyed playing softball on various teams. He was preceded in death by his father Larry Youtsey, and his Grandparents Gordon and Lucille Youtsey and Harry and Cecelia Eversole. A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent for the benefit of the family for final expenses to Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory.
