VAN WERT, Ohio a�" Carlos E. Waltz, 94, of Van Wert, died at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Hearth and Home in Van Wert.
He was born Sept. 19, 1919, in Van Wert, to the late Hazel E. (Haver) Waltz and Perry O. Waltz. His wife, Joan E. Waltz, survives of Van Wert.
Other survivors include a daughter: Barb J. (Ron) Owens of Venedocia, Ohio; stepchildren: Alice (Roger) Knueve of Convoy, Ohio, Juanita (Jack Brand) Plyler of Van Wert, Linda Gaddis of Louisville, Kentucky, Cheryl (Randy) Frey of Terre Haute, Indiana, Barbara (Doug) Wellhausen of Pearland, Texas, and James (Laura) Gaddis of West Minster, California; brothers: Cloyd P. (Jean) Waltz and Bernard E. Waltz, both of Van Wert, sister: Ursula Chapman of La Canada, California; 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Eloise Ross, and a grandchild.
He was a retired lifetime farmer and a member of First United Methodist Church, Van Wert. He was active in his community and church.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2014, at Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. The Rev. Paul Miller will officiate.
