Betty Bumbalough

Betty Jane Miller-Bumbalough, 98, of Celina, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at her residence in Celina. She was born on April 14, 1925, in Paulding, Ohio, to the late, Charles and Iva (Taylor) Hofacker. Betty lived a life filled with love, joy, and cherished moments with her family.

Betty dedicated her life to being a devoted homemaker, caring for her family with unwavering love and support. She lovingly raised her two daughters, Linda Wagner and Lisa Rice, instilling in them the values of compassion and kindness. Betty took great joy in spending time with her loved ones and was adored as a cherished grandmother.

Throughout her life, Betty had a variety of interests and hobbies. She enjoyed crafts, utilizing her creative talents to bring beauty into the world. She also found pleasure in playing bingo at the Van Wert Council on Aging and had a fondness for visits to the casino, where she embraced the excitement of chance and possibility.

Betty's vivacious spirit and kind heart will be dearly missed by her Linda (Elmer) Wagner, Lisa (Robert) Rice, Pamela (Larry) Vink, William (Kristine) Bumbalough grandchildren: Jason (Amanda) Arn, Greg Arn, Kelly Rice, Jessica (Michael Meadows) Hosington, Alicia (Rick Ginter) Wagner, Ken Cowan, Melanie (Andy) Wiseman, Danny (Cheyanne) Bumbalough; great grandchildren: Katie (Danny) Porter, Kyler (Amari) Witt, Chloe & Tecoha Hoisington, Arrick Carter, Braylee Mullins, Braxton Ginter, Sebastian Wiseman, Damian Bumbalough; great-great grandchildren: Eli & Lila Porter, Cason Witt; sisters-in-law: Deloris Hofacker, Shari Hofacker; siblings as well: Royal (Janet) Hofacker, William Hofacker, Ray Hofacker, Ilo (Lloyd) Marvin, Deloris Hofacker, and Shari Hofacker, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her spouses, Wayne R. Miller and William O. Bumbalough; siblings: Luther, Gerald, and Charles Hofacker, Helen Yeutter, Rebecca Miracle, and Tabitha Burt.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 29, 2023 Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, 722 S. Washington St Van Wert with Interment to follow in Convoy I.O.O.F Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the funeral home.
