Annabelle Clevenger, 97, of Convoy, passed away at 5:55 PM on January 18, 2021 at Vancrest of Van Wert. She was born on November 8, 1923, in Hudson, MI, to the late Oliver and Minnie (Bills) Swander. Her mother died during childbirth and Annabelle was reared by her late aunt and uncle, Mable (Swander) and Jesse Stemen.
On February 15, 1947, Annabelle married Clarence "Ray" Clevenger, who preceded her in death.
A graduate of Union High School, she worked as a bookkeeper at Convoy Equity Exchange for many years and was a former member of Convoy United Methodist Church. After retiring, Annabelle and Ray wintered in Ellenton, Fl until his death.
Annabelle enjoyed cooking, baking and crocheting. She was an avid reader and collected plates, vinegar cruets, and seashells. She also loved to play the organ and made sure she had one at home and one in Florida.
She is survived by two sons, Donald R. (Karen) Clevenger of Indianapolis, IN; Richard Clevenger of Convoy; a daughter, Barbara Clevenger of Fort Wayne, IN; and a grandson, Nicholas (Jen Bennett) Clevenger of Indianapolis.
In addition to her grandparents and husband, Annabelle was preceded in death by her brothers: Harold Swander and Gaylord Stemen; sister, Helen McGill and twin sister, Donnabelle.
Private family funeral service will be observed with interment to follow in Convoy I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
