Anna Bigelow, 91, of Scott, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Vancrest of Payne following a brief illness. She was born on March 27, 1935, in Van Wert, to the late Llewellyn E. and Blanche (Harmon) Whitaker.

Anna lived a quiet, humble life rooted in simple joys. After many years of service, she retired from Huffy Bikes. She found comfort in reading, crossword puzzles, and sewing, especially in her earlier years. As time went on, she discovered a renewed sense of connection and purpose through her involvement with the Paulding County Senior Center, where she enjoyed the companionship and activities it offered.

She leaves behind her children: Sherry M. Walkup of Fort Wayne; Liesa (Dennis) Boroff of Scott; and Barbara (Mike) Bowers of Van Wert; eight grandchildren; many great‑grandchildren; several great‑great‑grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her son, Terry L. Powell; and her siblings: Doyle E. Whitaker, Llewellyn "Pete" E. Whitaker Jr., and Sara Robeson.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Scott Cemetery, with Cheryl Schaffner officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Anna's name to the Paulding County Senior Center, a place that meant so much to her.
