Keith Griffiths

Keith T. Griffiths, 75, of Decatur, Indiana passed away at 4:47 AM, Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.  He was born October 7, 1942 to the late William Branfield & Naomi (Dearan) Griffiths.  He was married for over 50 years to the former Carolyn Huffine and she survives of Decatur.

He is also survived by three children; Kelly (Randy) Outman of Huntertown, Indiana, Stacey (Jason) Bussel of Decatur, and Nick (Katie) Griffiths of Ohio City, Ohio; two sisters, Margaret Robinson and Evelyn (Marvin) Zurcher, both of Rockford, Ohio; ten grandchildren; Sabrina (Mack) Innis, Corrinne (Cody Shifferly) Bussel, Cole Bussel, Connor Bussel, Jerica Ralston, Marnie Griffiths, Isiah Ralston, Kara Griffiths, Trace Griffiths, and Carter Ralston; and three great grandchildren, Tyson Innis, Leondro Innis, and Mary-Grace Shifferly.

Keith retired from International Harvester and was a lifelong farmer.  He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur, a life member of the N.R.A., a veteran of the United States Air Force, a member of the American Legion Post 43 in Decatur.  He also started the Adams County 4-H shooting sports program and spent 20 years as a 4-H advisor.  Keith loved gardening, cooking, had a lifelong quest to find the hottest pepper imaginable, and hosted an annual canning session in “Hell’s Kitchen”, but most of all, he loved his family and the time spent with them at cookouts and gatherings.  If asked, his family and friends would simply tell you he was an amazing person.

Private family services and burial at Pleasant Dale Cemetery in Decatur, Indiana will be held at a later date.

Preferred memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church, Turn Stone, or the American Cancer Society or to the donor’s choice.
