Kathy Ann Sink, "Gertie", 69, of Van Wert passed away at 12:48 PM on December 24, 2019 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 04, 1950, in Van Wert, to the late Herman Lawrence and Gloria Jean (King) Stittsworth.
Gertie was a 1968 graduate of Enfield High School in Connecticut. However, she attended Van Wert High School through her junior year and attended all of their reunions. On October 04, 1969, she married the love of her life, George Allen Sink. Together, they shared over 50 years of memories.
Gertie was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church where she loved to sing in the choir.
In her younger years, she enjoyed playing volleyball in the church and YWCA Leagues. Gertie also loved putting together Jig-Saw Puzzles. She loved her family, but her favorite thing was doting on her grandchildren and great grandchildren and attending their many sporting events.
She is survived by her husband, George Allen Sink "Al" of Van Wert; daughters, Jenny Easley of Bryan, OH; Becky (Bill) Lehman of Van Wert; Mandi (Scott) Schniplke of Van Wert; sisters, Karen Madison of Van Wert, OH; Kris Bozymski of Westerville; grandchildren: Jordan and Jade Easley of Bryan; Kayla (Kade) Pollock of Van Wert; Brooke Lehman of Van Wert; Ashley Buffenbarger of Eufala, AL; Korbin & Kollin Taylor of Van Wert; McKenzie (Nick) Leviker of Columbus Grove; Ethan, Noah and Megan Schnipke of Pemberton, OH; great grandchildren: Sawyer, Waylon, Tatum and Zaryah.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, 722 S. Washington St. Van Wert, OH 45891, with Rev. Chris Farmer, officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 PM Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the funeral home.
