Jimmie Dale Lindeman, 68, of Ohio City, Ohio died peacefully surrounded by his family listening to music at 6:40 PM Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Lima Memorial Hospital, Lima, Ohio.  He was born October 26, 1949 in Delphos, Ohio to the late Edwin and Lela (Putman) Lindeman.  He married Susan (Agler) and she survives of Ohio City.

Jim retired after 32 ½ years as an elevator operator from Bungee North America (formerly Central Soya) in Delphos, Ohio.  He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam where he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on November 2, 1968.  Jim was a member of the Delphos V.F.W. Post 3035 and Ft. Jennings American Legion Post 715.  He graduated from the University Of Northwestern Ohio with a degree in auto mechanics, was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan, loved camping, boating, listening to music- especially Willie’s Roadhouse station and Elvis Presley, but most importantly, Jim was a very selfless man who always put the needs of others before his own.

He is also survived by his children, Tammy (Charles) Cummings of Ft. Jennings, Ohio, Mandy (Dewayne) Mottinger of Van Wert, Jesse (Amie) Lindeman of Delphos, Audree (Jason) Markward of Ottoville, Ohio, Lae (Michelle) Brown II of Venedocia, Ohio, and Justic (Donna Rowe) Brown of Ohio City; grandchildren, Alexis (Austin) Hoyt, Angel Cummings, C.J. Cummings, Mallory Mottinger, Marissa Mottinger, Tyler Lindeman, Braden Lindeman, Savannah Lindeman, Archer Delgado, Ava Markward, Elliot Markward, Bobby Brown, Lae Brown, Curtis Brown, Elizabeth Brown, Emma Brown, Jacob Jackson, Ryan Jackson, J.D. Brown, Austin Brown and Gracelynn Brown; great grandchildren, Olivia, Jaxon and Jewelia; and brothers, Gerald (Kaye) Lindeman of Delphos and Larry Lindeman of Delphos.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Carl, Donald, Edwin, Kenneth and Paul Lindeman; and 6 sisters, Imogene Joseph, JoAnn Roberts, Dorothy Williams, Marilyn Martin, Donna Williamson and Carol Maloney.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, Ohio with Rev. Randy Bevington officiating.  Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City, Ohio.

Visitation will be from 3-8 PM on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert, Ohio and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials may be directed to Lima Memorial Heart & Vascular Institute or Van Wert County Relay for Life or the Wounded Warrior Project
