Jeffery Davis

Jeffery Davis, 61, of Van Wert, passed away at 2:53 PM Monday, June 25, 2018 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice. He was born March 10, 1957 in Bryan, Ohio, to his late parents, Richard Davis and Harriet (Lamb) Straley.

Jeff was an area farrier for 35 years. He married the love of his life, Shawnne Rieser in 1989. An outdoorsman, Jeff was often hiking, boating, and spending time at their cottage on the Auglaize River. Jeff never knew a stranger and loved to cook and entertain. He and Shawnne also enjoyed traveling together.

Surviving are his wife, Shawnne Riesen Davis; sisters and brothers-in-law: Kathy and Brian Clark, Sue and Barry McDowell; mother-in-law, Sue Koehler; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Kathy and Todd Vance; Tara Riesen and Neal Beckman; Tracy and Rick Fravel; nieces and nephews: Garret McDowell; Codi and Cody Feasby; Eric and Rachael Fravel; Danielle Fravel; Joel and Lanette Fravel; Mandy and Matt Clark; great nieces and nephews: Cali and Chase Feasby; Cameron and Wesley Fravel; Rory Fravel.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev. Jeff Miller presiding. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the funeral home.
